The Venice Beach Boardwalk is a big part of what Venice Beach is all about. You'll find just about every type person imaginable on the Venice Beach Boardwalk. The Venice Beach Boardwalk is the ultimate people watching destination. Along the boardwalk you have many options as to what you can do. You'll find artistic type merchants on the beach side of the boardwalk and more commercial type merchants on the city side. The City of Venice has a new requirement that sellers along the beach side of Venice must be or an artistic or first amendment type of nature, so you will find artists, musicians, performers, psychic readers, activists and people with unique messages. There is some amount of activism along the Venice Boardwalk so if you are easily offended you might take note here. The Venice beach Boardwalk is several miles long but the real hot spot is about a mile and half long.

Along the boardwalk you can have a meal, have a meal and people watch. You can get drinks, watch the performers, you can wander off onto the beach and can even get yourself a tattoo. The Venice Beach Boardwalk is a great way to spend the day.

Parking can be found in numerous locations. Normally the street metered parking won't work because of time limits and the city does write parking tickets. This is not a place to illegally park. There is more free parking on nearby streets but this parking can be hard to come by. Paid parking is available next to the boardwalk in several areas. If you park on Windward (The Main Area) you will pay $5 - $20 to park. $20 is the typical price early day in the summer. Parking prices will often decrease towards the end of the day. You can also save money by parking at a local restaurant. A great way to do that is choosing a restaurant with a boardwalk view, like "On The Waterfront Cafe". You'll pay less for parking and have a great meal while you enjoy lunch, drinks or dinner on the beach.

If you wish is to sell on the Venice Beach Boardwalk then you'll have to fit within certain guidelines. The first is that you are doing something of a first amendment nature, such as art, music, or some other form or expressive creation. The sale of Jewelry, clothing and hard goods is not allowed on the beach side of boardwalk. With that said you may very well find some sellers of these items there. There is an ongoing fight about what can and can not be done on the boardwalk.

One thing that many people do along the Venice Beach Boardwalk is shop. You can find stores of every nature. There is clothing stores, gifts, jewelry, tattoo shops, food, religious artifacts, a market, music and much more. It's quite possible you'll find a good deal along the Venice Boardwalk.
